TAGS AND GRAFFITI

Tags and graffiti are means of expression of the young of the street. But as there are not a lot of installations for this purpose, the young are obliged to tag but illegally. They do not find any perfect wall to tag, then they tag on all that they can find : lorries, school walls, cars...

But they also tag by sheer vandalism or to mark their territory, when they are part of a gang or of a band.

 

History:

In 1969, in New-York, one person in particular made graffiti famous : his name was Demetrius. His nickname was TAKI-183. A lot of people copied him and started to tag on buses, trains, walls...

There are lot of graffiti styles :

-Vandals (tags and graffiti on walls, cars...)
